Bon Jovi

Biography

The project Bon Jovi was formed around singer and rhythm guitarist Bon Jovi. The original and current line-up also includes David Bryan (keyboards), Tico Torres (drums, percussion), Hugh McDonald (bass; officially a member since 2016 after many collaborations) and Phil X (guitars).

Former members include founding bassist Alec John Such (1983–1994) and lead guitarist and co-writer Richie Sambora (1983–2013).

The band is credited with achieving considerable worldwide success from the late 1980s, with albums that sold tens of millions of copies. Songs like Runaway, You Give Love a Bad Name, Livin' on a Prayer, Bad Medicine, I'll Be There for You, Always, It's My Life and Who Says You Can't Go Home have marked the international charts.

Throughout their career the band has explored different sounds, sometimes incorporating influences from other musical worlds, notably on some more recent albums. Their longevity and impact are highlighted by numerous highly successful world tours, their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018, and record sales exceeding 130 million units worldwide.
