Andra

Andra, whose real name is Alexandra Irina Măruță (née Mihai), is a Romanian singer and TV host, born on August 23, 1986 in Câmpia Turzii.

She began singing at a very young age and gained attention at just 7 years old by performing a song by Whitney Houston. At only 14, she released her self-titled debut album in 2001, blending R&B and pop-dance. Her success quickly took hold in Romania with tracks such as Vreau sărutarea ta, which topped the charts and earned her several awards.

Over the course of her career, she has collaborated with many Romanian and international artists, including David Bisbal. Her repertoire has evolved from romantic ballads to dance pop, helping her become one of the most high-profile artists in her country. In 2007, she also released her first greatest-hits compilation.

In 2011, aiming to reach an international audience, she signed with the Play On label and released the single Telephone. The video achieved solid success online and on television. She continued her music career with songs like Inevital va fi bine in 2013 and Nebuni In Noapte in 2015.

Alongside music, Andra has pursued a television career. She married TV presenter Cătălin Măruță on August 23, 2008, and they have two children.
