After a long run of hits with Tommy Boy, she founded her own imprint, JMCA Enterprises, in 2004; the first album released on the label was My Kind Of World, accompanied by the single You Move Me.
In December 2016, Billboard ranked her the 34th most successful dance artist of all time.
She is no longer actively creating music and has not performed live since 2013.
