Biography
Alex K, real name Alex Karbouris, is an Australian DJ and dance music producer born on November 29, 1979.
He began his career at age 16 on New Wave FM 99.3, then Wild FM, where he produced the megamixes for the Wild series, selling over 100,000 copies per volume. In 1996, he signed with Central Station Records and released on Dinky Records. Associated with the ‘bouncy’ or ‘scouse house’ sound, his career took off alongside those of Klubbheads and DJ Jean.
He has signed with international labels such as Nukleuz, Ministry of Sound, and AATW, and has remixed artists including Backstreet Boys, Sisqo, Delta Goodrem, and Kylie Minogue. His compilation ‘Ultimate NRG’ sold over 100,000 copies and was certified gold in the United Kingdom in 2006.
Former resident DJ of the Melbourne superclub “QBH”, he managed the Klubbed and Hectik projects, and now runs NRG Rekords. He is known under many aliases including Club Enforcer, AK Project, Plus 8, Europa, Sublime, Beat Trippa, Bassfreakerz, Aktivate, Alessanda, Klubmaster, Special K, and The Allstars.
