Bosson

Bosson

Biography

Bosson, real name Staffan Olsson, is a Swedish singer born on February 21, 1969 in Särö, near Göteborg. His stage name is a tribute to his father, Bo, literally meaning ‘the son of Bo’. He began singing in front of an audience at the age of six. His first significant musical experience was with the band Elevate, which signed with Virgin Records in the early 1990s and released three successful singles.

His solo career took off in 2001 with the global hit One in a Million, included on the soundtrack of the film ‘Miss Congeniality’ starring Sandra Bullock, earning him a Golden Globe nomination. This success propelled him to open for artists like Kylie Minogue and Britney Spears.

A songwriter, he has written for other artists such as Amy Grant and Al Di Meola. He describes his creative process as introspection, where isolation allows him to draw inspiration for his often romantic songs. For him, a song’s strength lies in its ability to tell an identifiable story.

He achieved immense popularity, particularly in Russia and Asia, becoming a megastar in those regions. His advice to emerging artists is to follow their heart and do what feels right, as this authenticity is transmitted through the music.
