Biography

DJ Jurgen, real name Jurgen Rijkers, is a Dutch disc jockey, producer and remixer from Delft, where he was born on February 13, 1967.

His radio career began as early as 1978 on Radio Stad den Haag. In 1985, he joined Radio Veronica, one of the country’s leading national stations at the time, where he also worked on roadshows.

He turned to production in 1995 and released his first record in 1996 on the Dutch label Colors. He is best known for producing the international dance hit Alice Deejay, Better Off Alone in 1999, as well as for his own eurodance success of the year 2000, Higher & Higher, performed with Dutch singer Karen Shenaz.

Although he still performs as a DJ, he devotes a large part of his work to studio production for other artists or for his own creations. His work is associated with the dance, trance and vocal trance genres.

He is also known by the names and variations D. J. Jurgen, D.J. Jurgen, DJ Jurden, DJ Jurgan, DJ Jürgen, DJ. Jurgen and simply Jurgen.
