Hands Up Squad
Biography
The Hands Up Squad project was founded in autumn 2005 by DJ Mafia and Massiv 4. The duo consists of Gerhard Szamuhely and Christoph Trücher.
In January 2006, their first single Popp that Pussy reached number one on several Austrian dance charts, including ADC50 and DJTOP40. The track was also licensed and remixed for about 120 compilations in countries such as Poland, Germany, Italy, Russia, the Netherlands, Belgium, and the United States.
Their second single Be Denied, released in February 2007, was also very successful, reaching the Top 3 of Austrian dance charts. It achieved good positions on the German DJ playlist, Swedish dance charts, Italian M2O charts, and Swiss Deejay charts.
Considered “Austria’s No. 1 DJ team,” the duo produced about 24 remixes for artists such as Floorfilla, DJ Goldfinger, Clubraiders, Max Deejay, Andy Garcia, and Antares by July 2007.
Their DJ performances are also very popular. Both members have been mixing for years in the biggest clubs in Austria, Hungary, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Poland. In addition to their solo projects, they perform about 35 shows per year under the name Hands Up Squad, each with over ten years of experience in the scene.
Their third single is an internal “Orange Music” project created in collaboration with Andy Garcia and the Clubraiders. It is a cover of the major Italo-dance hit Moving On, which reached number one on the Austrian dance charts in its first week.
In autumn 2007, DJ Mafia and Massiv 4 prepared their next track Alice in Wonderland, with remixes by Rocco & Bass-t and the Nightshifters.
