
First Base
Biography
First Base is a German eurodance music project formed in 1995. The group consists of singer Christina Safrani (alias Viktoria), rapper Mike Williams (alias MC Flash), and producer DJ Wondermike (alias Mike Wonder).
Their debut single, Love Is Paradise, released in 1995 on Beam Records, became a hit in Canada after being reissued on a BMG compilation in January 1996. It was nominated for Song of the Year 1996 at the First Annual Euro-Energy Cyberspace Awards and featured on several North American compilations.
In 1996, the group released Heavenly exclusively on a Canadian BMG compilation. In April 1997, Can You Keep A Secret? was released as a limited 12″ vinyl edition for DJs, earning the project nominations at the Second Annual Euro-Energy Cyberspace Awards.
First Base toured Canada in the summer of 1997 as part of BMG Canada’s “Groove Station Tour,” followed by twelve concerts in 1998 in cities including Vancouver, Toronto, and Winnipeg.
In March 1999, the track Follow Me was released as a promo vinyl for club DJs. A CD EP featuring this song and previous hits was planned for general release in April 1999.
Producer DJ Wondermike has also created remixes for artists such as No Mercy. Under other aliases, the project has also been active as Stereotype and Get The Real Power.
