Robert Haynes

Biography

Robert Haynes was the rapper for Le Click. From his early teens, his interests were deejaying and music: he studied piano and performed in his high school band.

During college, he worked at the University of California, Berkeley radio station KALX as an announcer and DJ. He then joined the army in 1984, which brought him to Germany, where he truly launched his career as a DJ and producer.

He started deejaying in clubs around Frankfurt, growing in popularity on the German scene. As a writer and producer, he worked with several projects. His biography notes a single recorded with Devica, What is Sadness, which appeared on the German charts and the Billboard 12″ single sales charts in 1991. That experience helped establish his rapping career across various record companies and projects, including Le Click with Tonight Is The Night and La Bouche with Sweet Dreams, where he also took part as a co-writer. He may also have been featured on Cartouche with Touch The Sky.
