Biography

Darryl Pandy was a singer born on 24 December 1962 in Chicago.

He played a crucial role in the international expansion of Chicago House music. In 1986, he provided vocals on Love Can't Turn Around, produced by Farley "Jackmaster" Funk, Jesse Saunders, Duane Buford and Vince Lawrence. The single became a commercial success in the United States and reached the UK Top 10, helping popularize the Chicago House sound in Europe.

Considered one of the most in-demand voices on the House scene, he went on to perform on other tracks such as Animal Magnetism and Climax the same year.
His career was marked by hits such as I Love Music, Heaven's In Your Heart, Love Turns To Pain, Work Your Body, Freeman, Put My Love On The Line, Tossin and Turnin, Get Your Hands Off My Man and Searching For Love.

In 1997, Love Can't Turn Around was reissued with additional remixes and reached the UK Billboard Top 40.
The following year, he released his self-titled album on the Trax Records label, compiling some of his biggest hits and remixes.

In 1999, he collaborated with CZR on the single Bad Enough, released on Erick Morillo’s Subliminal label. The track charted in the Billboard Top 40 in the United States and the United Kingdom.
He then reunited with Farley "Jackmaster" Funk for the gospel house hit He's My Best Friend, and released Raise Your Hands, which debuted at number one on the UK dance club charts.

In the early 2000s, he kept up the momentum with tracks like Sunshine and Happiness and Feel It, which were well received by critics.
Get Your Body On The Floor (U Can Do It) received substantial support from MTV.

Among his later projects were Joy in 2003 alongside Dutch Johnson, and Dancing in 2004 with Laurent Wolf.
In 2005, he teamed up with Réne Süss for Clap Your Hands On The Dancefloor on the German label Tiefenrausch Records.

Darryl Pandy died on 10 June 2011 at the age of 48.
