X-Perience
Biography
X-Perience is a pop group from Berlin, Germany. The lineup includes Matthias Uhle (composition, keyboards), his sister Claudia Uhle (vocals until 2007), and Alexander Kaiser (lyrics, keyboards). The group was founded in 1995.
Their first single, Circles Of Love, was released on their own label and produced by Axel Henninger, who had previously worked with Camouflage. The track became a regional hit in Berlin, drawing the attention of major label WEA, which offered the band a contract and reissued the single in 1996, allowing it to enter the German Top 100.
The second single, A Neverending Dream, backed by a video played in heavy rotation on MTV and VIVA, became a major hit in late 1996, reaching No. 4 on the German charts and going gold with more than 250,000 copies sold. The song has since been covered several times, including by the dance group Cascada.
Their debut album *Magic Fields* was released in 1997 and peaked at No. 22 in Germany. It was especially successful in Finland, where it achieved platinum status. The title track Magic Fields was issued as a single with a video shot in South Africa.
The second album, *Take me Home*, followed in autumn 1997 and also reached No. 22 in Germany. Its most successful single was the dance track I Don't Care. In 1998, the group won the R.SH Gold radio award.
After a three-year break, X-Perience returned in 2000 with the album *Journey Of Life*, featuring The Meaning Of Life, a duet with Neue Deutsche Welle and gothic-scene icon Joachim Witt. The single Island Of Dreams was used as the theme song for the adventure show *Expedition Robinson* (Survivor).
In 2006, the band signed a new deal with Major Records and released the comeback single Return to Paradise as well as their fourth album *Lost in Paradise*. It includes new versions of the group’s first three major hits and the duet Personal Heaven with Midge Ure (Ultravox, DJ Visage), which was released as a single.
With the release of the single I Feel Like You in 2007, Claudia Uhle decided to leave the group. In 2009, a new singer, Manja Kaletka, was introduced on the band’s website for an album that ultimately never materialized.
On 22 December 2019, the group announced Manja Kaletka’s departure and a return with Claudia Uhle in 2020. After an initial teaser single, Dream A Dream, the single I Feel Like You 555 was released on 15 May 2020, followed by the fifth album *555*.
