Biography

Edmée Daenen, born 25.03.1985 in Oostduinkerke (Belgium), is a Flemish singer‑songwriter and the lead vocalist of the project D.H.T..

Two decades ago she broke through with multiple chart successes. In 2016 a breast cancer diagnosis, heartbreak and legal battles led her to step away from the spotlight; songwriting became her lifeline and sparked a creative rebirth.

Her reintroduction came in 2024 with a country‑pop version of Listen to Your Heart, serving as both a farewell to the past and a fresh start: no more borrowed words, no more compromises — her own lyrics, her own voice.

In March 2025 she released her first fully self‑written single, What Good Girls Do, a bold anthem about self‑love and breaking free from people‑pleasing. ‘I sing this for the woman I used to be and for anyone still finding their voice’, she says.

The follow‑up single, L.O.V.E., is brighter and poppier while remaining deeply personal, celebrating unexpected love with 80s‑inspired synths and a touch of modern country.

Each song forms part of her story of healing, growth and starting over. This return is not merely a comeback; it is her triumph and a reminder that it is never too late to begin again.
