DJ Valium

Biography

The DJ Valium project was initially launched by Axel Konrad and later expanded to include co-producer Ole Wierk and singer Tanja Korb, also known under the alias Tat Morena.

The first release, the single Keep Da Clubstyle in April 1999, entered the German charts. The following single, Go Right For (December 1999), featuring Tanja Korb’s vocals, reached and held the number one position on the German Dance Chart; it also reached #7 on the Media Control Dance Chart, #11 on the German DJ Playlist and #2 in the French clubs ranking.

The next single, Omen III, was heavily inspired by the success of Magic Affair; the CD included a version by Klubbheads. The track reached #47 on the Top Singles and #11 on the French Hit Media Control.

Then came Doin' It Again, again featuring Tanja Korb: it peaked at #35 on the French Official Single Chart and remained 24 weeks in the top 100; it also hit number one on the Swiss Dance Chart and #50 on the main Swiss singles chart, while in Germany it reached #57 and in Austria #15.

DJ Valium’s first album, simply titled The Album, was released as a 3-CD box set containing numerous remixes, megamixes and music videos.

From 2003 the project began to be known as DJ Volume with the release of the single Spirit of Yesterday; however, in France the project remained identified as DJ Valium.
