Biography
Mario Lopez, whose real name is Thomas Schatz, is a German DJ and producer born on 4 May 1969 in Hanover, where he is still based.
Active on the dance and trance scene, he emerged at the end of the 1990s in collaboration with producers Sascha Graune and Matthias Wagner. His career includes several international hits, notably Into my brain, Blind, Always and forever, Alone and I can't believe (Biscaya).
His first single, The Sound of Nature, remains his biggest commercial success; the video, which uses footage from the Marlboro Cinema advertisements, was widely broadcast on MTV and VIVA. A follow-up, Sound of The City (Nature 2.4), exists with two different covers.
Many consider Free Your Mind his best-known track. He has released four albums and fifteen singles in total, twelve of which charted in the German sales charts.
He has also produced remixes for artists such as Mark 'Oh, Dumonde, CJ Stone, Royal Melody, Seikos and Join Forces, and is behind projects like DJ R Gee and the M&R Project.
Since 2021 he has been regularly streaming his sets on Twitch.
