Biography
740 Boyz is an American-Dominican dance group founded in 1991 by Winston Rosa, aka BIG WIN, from New York.
The project began after BIG WIN met Rafael Vargas (aka Dose Material, also a member of 2 in a Room) and Jose Fuentes (aka Pickles, who has been part of groups such as Fulanito) at INS Studios in New York. Winston Rosa has also collaborated with artists including Shaggy and Afrika Bambaataa.
Their first single, Shimmy Shake, was a major hit in France, reaching No. 2 on the French Top 50 at the end of 1995, and was also successful in Belgium. The track had a more modest reception in the UK, Germany and the United States.
A few months later, the second single, Bump Bump (Booth Shake), was released: it reached No. 14 in France and had limited success in other European countries, notably Belgium and the Netherlands.
In 2003, a collaboration between Porn Kings vs. Flip & Fill featuring 740 Boyz on the track Shake Ya Shimmy reached No. 28 on the UK Singles Chart.
