Dumonde
Biography
Dumonde is a German trance and hard trance project, founded in 1997.
Born from a collaboration between René Dumont, Jürgen Mutschall (also known as DJ Jam X) and Dominik de León (alias De Leon), the group achieved its first success in 1999 with the single Tomorrow, which reached the German Top 10 and appeared on numerous major trance compilations, contributing to the late‑1990s European trance wave.
Their musical signature — energetic synths and a heightened sense of drama — continued through remixes for Alice Deejay, Push and Barthezz, and with the singles See the Light and Never Look Back. Their growing popularity as DJs made them notable figures in Germany’s mainstream trance scene.
For personal reasons, René Dumont left the group in early 2001. After ten years of activity, Dumonde split in 2007; Jürgen Mutschall and Dominik de León then focused on solo projects.
In 2024, Jürgen Mutschall relaunched Dumonde in collaboration with Daniel Körber (alias a404070).
