Trans-X

Biography

Trans-X is a Canadian synthpop and hi-NRG group from Montreal, Quebec.

They are best known for their international hit Living on Video, certified gold in Germany and platinum in Mexico in the early 1980s. The female voice on the original recording of the track is Laurie Ann Gill, although she was never credited on an official group release.

The project is led by Pascal Languirand. Between 1987 and 1990 his wife Denise, also known as Lady D, handled most television appearances and they released a record together under the name Live On Video. In 1994, after settling in Barcelona, Pascal collaborated with Lali, a Catalan singer who performed on stage with Trans-X until 2008.

In 2006 the singer Cerstin "Cessy" Strecker was hired to record the vocal for ZYX’s reissue of Living on Video but never performed live with the lineup. From 2008 to 2015 the main voice of Trans-X was Argentine singer Corina Lawrence.

Other members or collaborators who have been part of Trans-X include Steve Wyatt, Shimai, Anne Brosseau, René Grignon, Ramon Serratos and Luana Viana De Souza.

Pascal Languirand revived the Trans-X name to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the flagship single with a tour titled “Trans-X Living On Video 20th Anniversary Tour”. Over his career he has also been involved in various side projects and has taken part in the Eurovision Song Contest.
