Biography
Elize, born Elise van der Horst, is a Dutch singer born in 1982 in Utrecht. Her career began at the age of eight in the choir of the television show Kinderen voor Kinderen, where she remained until she was fifteen and performed the popular solo « Het Tietenlied ».
She made her debut in electronic and dance-pop music in 2004 under the name EliZe with the single Shake, which became a Dancesmash on Radio 538. Her breakthrough came in 2005 with Automatic, which charted in the Dutch and Bulgarian Top 10, earning her a nomination for Best Dutch Female Artist at the TMF Awards.
Her first album, *In Control* (2006), reached number 66 in the Netherlands and spawned the successful singles Into Your System and I'm No Latino, despite mixed reviews regarding its originality. Her second album, *More Than Meets The Eye* (2009), promoted by Lovesick and a cover of Hot Stuff, solidified her popularity in Bulgaria.
In parallel, she participated in amateur productions of musicals such as *Chicago* and *Les Misérables*.
