Chris Reece

Biography

Chris Reece is an electronic music project formed in 2007, consisting of the duo Christian Hirt and Roberto Pagliaro. Their philosophy is that music must come from the heart, regardless of genre.

Swiss producer Christian Hirt and DJ Roberto Pagliaro joined forces, bringing a warm, positive sound to the dance scene. In perfect balance, Roberto is responsible for making clubs around the world vibrate to bring the Chris Reece sound to the public, while Christian captures the good vibes in the studio to produce the project’s originals and remixes. Together, they form a promising partnership, combining all the talent and determination needed to reach the top.

Christian Hirt always knew he wanted to make a living from music. He started experimenting with computers and was able to produce a track from start to finish by the age of 13. Over time, he not only set up his own studio but also spent over 70 weeks in the Swiss charts alongside his partner Franky Fonell. After ten years of partnership, Christian moved towards the Chris Reece direction, aiming for a more underground, tribal, and progressive house sound. He describes his current sound as a blend of modern house, mixed with 80s influences and trance.

Roberto Pagliaro embodies the club spirit and has a sense of what makes dancefloors tremble and crowds move. Over the years, he has made hearts beat faster with his productions, remixes, and sets under the name Rob Lemon. To ensure consistent quality, whether in the club or the studio, the two artists decided to divide the work and each focus on their part. Like a two-piece puzzle, they combine their strengths to form one strong entity: Chris Reece.

As a team, they have taken their success to the next level, awakening the dance scene with tracks like The Fall, Suave, Salvation, and Still Breathin'. Their debut album, titled The Divine Circle, was released on Armada Music in June 2010. It includes collaborations with artists such as Nadia Ali, Sam Obernik, Abigail Bailey, and Colton Ford.

The project is also linked to other names such as C. Reece, Ch. Reece, Chis Reese, Chris Reece Deluxe, Chris Reese, Chriss Reece, and Christian Reece. In 2007, Christian Hirt launched his own digital label, Unreleased Digital, which features international artists like Daniel Portman or Dinka, alongside the Chris Reece project itself. Their remixes, such as the one for Please Don't Go (Armada), The Pusher (Swentraxx), or Greece 2000 (Pinkstar Records), have been very well received by the world’s top DJs.

Their musical style falls mainly within the house, progressive house, trance, and tech house genres, reflecting an evolution from uplifting trance sounds towards more underground and progressive sonorities.
