Push

Push

Biography

Push is a Belgian music project primarily associated with the producer and DJ Mike Dierickx, also known as M.I.K.E.. Initially linked to the label USA Import Music and mainly produced by Dirk Dierickx (his birth name), the project became, from 1998 on Bonzai Records, one of the most famous aliases of M.I.K.E. for big-room trance.

Born on February 20, 1973, in Antwerp, Dirk Dierickx began his career as DJ Mike, which later became his artist name. He officially changed his name to Mike Dierickx in 2000. A recognized figure in the trance/EDM scene, he moved to New York.

The project also involved other members at different times, such as Mark Carpentier, Bart Beirinckx, and Thierry Wybauw, but it is primarily and enduringly carried by Mike Dierickx.

Among the most well-known productions by Push is the track Universal Nation. Other notable singles include The Legacy and Strange World, defining a style rooted in progressive trance.

The artist is known for using numerous aliases throughout his career, such as Plastic Boy, Return Of The Native, Solar Factor, or Mass Effect. Since January 1, 2014, he merged two of his most distinctive pseudonyms to be known as M.I.K.E. Push.

Thus, Push is inseparable from the artistic identity of Mike Dierickx and his journey in electronic music, specifically trance and EDM.
