Lucas Prata

Biography

Lucas Prata is a Dance-Pop and House musician and DJ born on December 30, 1978 in Queens, New York.

From a young age, he was passionate about performing, captivating audiences on platforms like MTV and in national TV commercials for brands such as Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, JC Penney, and LA Gear. After these successful television experiences, he turned to his true passion: music.

He attended the University of Miami, where he won the Mr. University of Miami contest in his senior year thanks to his vocal abilities, a victory that convinced him to pursue a full-time singing career.

Returning to New York after graduating, he recorded and released his own singles. Sony artist George Lamond took him under his creative wing and hired him to tour as a backup singer and dancer, notably on his then-hit Bad of the Heart.

In the summer of 2000, he was selected as the opening act for Salt-n-Pepa on their North American tour, presenting his single Fly Away in 80 cities.

Seeking to advance his career, he auditioned at the studios of C&C Music Factory, where he met programmer and co-producer Ricky Crespo. They quickly became friends and began creating music that caught the attention of major labels. Within months, the duo signed three songs, and his track Let's Get It On became the most requested song on Miami’s Party 93.1 radio in just two weeks.

After a hiatus, he resumed recording in 2011 with singles like When The Lights Are Down and Nowhere To Run. Among his recognizable tracks are also Never Be Alone, And She Said, Love of My Life, and We Got It Going On.

He is also known under the names Raige Lucas, Lucas Prata, Lucas Prata, and simply Lucas Prata.
