Collective

Collective

Biography

The musical project Collective is formed by two Polish musicians, Marek Dulewicz and Piotr Sulikowski, who are also its songwriters and producers.

The collective debuted in 1999 with the single Call Me (When You’re Sad). In 2000, it changed its name to become New Collective, an alias under which it is also known.

Their musical style is defined as Eurodance incorporating elements of 80s disco. Their sound production is comparable to projects like Modern Talking, Bad Boys Blue, or Fancy from the same period. Their tracks are characterized by the use of high-pitched vocals, vocoder effects, and synthesizers.

Before being called Collective, the artists performed under the name Darkroom, with which they released the album *Soundtracks*, later reissued in a slightly different version under the title *Daylight*.
