BKS
Biography
BKS is an electronic music project originating from Toronto, formed by radio DJ Chris Sheppard with members Hennie Bekker and Greg Kavanagh.
The collective’s name is an acronym, with each letter corresponding to the initial of the last name of its three members: Bekker, Kavanagh, and Sheppard.
Their catalog includes several notable tracks, notably the hits Take Control and The Square Dance Song, the latter being a collaboration with violinist Ashley MacIsaac. Other singles like I'm in Love with You and Living in Ecstasy remained favorites in clubs and radio shows.
Their track Astroplane won a Juno Award in 1996. The group also achieved significant commercial success, selling millions of units, partly due to the promotion of compilations on the MuchMusic channel.
