Biography

Prince Ital Joe, real name Joseph Paquette, was a reggae and ragga artist born in Dominica who primarily lived in Los Angeles.


He is best known for his collaboration with rapper Marky Mark in the project Prince Ital Joe Feat. Marky Mark, which also included producers Frank Peterson and Alex Christensen. Their first album, “Life in the Streets”, was released in 1994, followed by “The Remix Album” in 1995.


Afterwards, Prince Ital Joe embarked on a solo career and signed with Suge Knight and Dr. Dre’s Death Row Records. He made appearances on several notable albums, such as “Dogg Food” by Tha Dogg Pound, “The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory” by Makaveli, and “Retaliation, Revenge & Get Back” by Daz Dillinger.


Born in Dominica, he moved to Brooklyn, New York at age 13, then settled in California to pursue a career in entertainment. Before music, he worked as a concert promoter in the Caribbean for artists like Ziggy Marley and performed at private parties in Hollywood.


Prince Ital Joe died on May 16, 2001 from injuries sustained in a car accident on a highway near Phoenix, Arizona.


His work is associated with the dance and eurodance genres, particularly through his iconic collaborations in the 1990s. He is sometimes referenced under the aliases Prince Ital Joe, Prince Ital Joe, Prince Ital Joe, Prince Ital Joe, or simply Joe Paquette.
