La Luna
Biography
The music project La Luna is a collaboration between producer Regi Penxten and co-producer Steve Spaas, also known as Steve Spaceman. They teamed up with singer Sofie Lambaerts, who prefers to be called Luna, to form this electronic music project.
The collaboration began in 1998 when Regi Penxten was looking for a singer for a new dance project. Sofie Lambaerts passed the auditions and became the voice and face of the project initially named K Voice Feat La Luna. The first single, Save Me From The Night, was released in January 1999 and became a club hit.
For the next single, the decision was made to put Sofie Lambaerts in the spotlight. The track Venus was released in June 1999, again achieving club success. It was in January 2000 with the single When The Morning Comes that the project achieved significant commercial success, reaching the top of the charts in Belgium and being nominated for single of the year by Radio Donna.
Other singles followed, including Take Me in August 2000, which reached the top 10, and Kisses of Fire in April 2001. The single Here I Am was released on February 11, 2002.
