Biography

Sample Rippers is a production and DJ team consisting of Paul Hutsch and Volker Heinrichs, the latter also known as Picco.

The duo is also active under the alias Lazy Monkeys. Their productions fall within the dance, trance, electronic, hands up, and techno genres.

Paul Hutsch released his first tracks in the mid-1990s on the Alphabet City label. He is the producer behind numerous projects such as 89ers, Rave Allstars, Drop Kicks, Greatest Deejay, or Heiko and Maiko. He has been involved in several chart successes across Europe and has created remixes for artists like Safri Duo, Floorfilla, Rocco, Bass-T, or Bangbros. As a DJ, he regularly tours Europe.

Volker Heinrichs (DJ Picco) began his career in 1995 by founding the Avancada project, which achieved worldwide success with the track Motherfucker Go! and won an Ibiza Music Award. He later launched other projects like A-Seven, Bass Inc., or Activators. With tracks like It Goes On and On and Jump All Around, he helped popularize the “Jump Style” genre in Germany.

He has remixed tracks by over thirty artists, including U96, Sash!, Bangbros, Central Seven, Master Blaster, and the US number-one hit by Baha Men, Who Let the Dogs Out. He received his first gold and platinum certification in 2000 for his remix of the Sash! classic Adelante. He is also a co-founder and publisher of one of Germany’s leading dance radio stations, Fantasy Dance FM, where he hosts the “No Limit” show every Monday.
