Biography
Rashni, real name Rashni Banda Khan, was born on January 1, 1970 in Calcutta.
He began his career on the theater stages of his hometown before moving to Mumbai, where he turned to film and television. His breakthrough came with the series “Danger Man”. In 1998, he won the “Best Bad Boy Award” for his portrayals of villains in films such as “Ünbelievably Mean” and “Dangerous Bad Breath”.
At the same time, Rashni is passionate about music. He started with the electric guitar, playing in the street and imitating Diana Ross, then recorded a first demo in the studio. This led him to collaborate with rapper Nandita on the track Take me, I'm yours, where he provides backing vocals.
This collaboration encouraged him to pursue a solo career. His first single, Baboushka, released in 2007, is an upbeat pop song that deals with sex, love, money, cars and clothing, and is inspired by his film “Rashni in Moscow”. The music video showcases his stunt skills, performing his own stunts.
His musical style is associated with italo dance and italo disco. With this single, he aimed to conquer Europe and the rest of the world.
