The Morrighan
Biography
The Morrighan is a British musical project formed by the duo Cecily Fay and Jon Crosse, also known as Jon Crosse & Cecily Fay.
Their first single, released in 1999, was the trance hit Remember – To the Millennium. They followed it with another trance anthem, Follow Me, created in collaboration with DJ and producer Lange.
Their music blends electro, classical, techno and trance into an euphoric, modern soundscape. Cited influences include Pink Floyd, Kate Bush and Leftfield. Their lyrics are sometimes poetic and prophetic and occasionally incorporate excerpts from films such as Contact, Lords Of War, Planet Earth and Star Trek.
In 2010 they released the album one hour on earth, praised by figures and media including Brent Hansen (former MTV president), actor Patrick Stewart and the magazine NME.
Alongside The Morrighan, Cecily Fay pursued a career composing music for film and television and works as a movement artist in the film industry. Jon Crosse founded an event photography company called Phototheatre.
The project has seen recent successes: in December 2025 the track Sun reached number two on the trance charts on iTunes in the United Arab Emirates, while The Heart of Asia reached number one on the German Trance Airplay Charts.
The Morrighan have performed live at venues such as The Scala and The Fridge in London, and at the Sunrise Festival during Glastonbury in 2006.
