Caitlin

Biography

Caitlin is the stage name of Kathleen Goossens, born 23 May 1976 in Heist-op-den-Berg (Belgium). From a family deeply rooted in music, she grew up surrounded by record- and stage-related activities: her grandfather played accordion in “The Rainbows”, and also worked as a producer and manager, while the family ran a publishing house and record company.
Her mother ran a record shop where Caitlin spent much of her childhood, which fostered her early interest in music.
After studying marketing, she worked part-time at her sister’s artist agency, an experience that launched her collaborations as a studio singer and led to her participation in the Belgian dance project Astroline, responsible for Belgian hits such as “Feel The Fire” and “Smiling Faces”.
When Astroline ceased activity, Caitlin paused performing live but continued studio work.
Later the producers of the project Orion Too contacted her: since then she has mainly sung for that collective and recorded under that name. Her discography includes notably Call Me (Radio Edit) (2003).
Name variants include Caitlin, and her real identity is often given as Kathleen Goossens, which clarifies the link between the vocal project and her studio work with Belgian dance formations she collaborated with.
