Naksi and Brunner
Biography
Naksi and Brunner is a Hungarian electronic music project made up of Attila Náksi and Zsolt Brunner. The duo played a major role in shaping Hungary’s Dance and House scene from the late 1990s through the 2010s.
Attila Náksi has worked in the Hungarian music industry since 1993 as a DJ, producer, composer, and entrepreneur. In 1996 he founded the label and studio Oxigen Music, which became one of the key players in Hungarian dance music. His productions generated several hundred thousand sales and earned numerous awards, including gold and platinum records.
Zsolt Brunner became known in the mid-1990s as a member of the group Infinity. An audio engineer and remixer, he later joined Oxigen Music as studio manager.
Náksi and Brunner began collaborating in 1998 on various production projects and as DJs. Their partnership quickly proved complementary: Náksi brought producer and business experience, while Brunner specialized in studio work and remixes.
Their first mix album, Club Sandwich, was released in December 1999 and reached gold status. The series continued for several years with similarly strong commercial results.
In 2001 they launched a second summer compilation series, Sunshine, which also achieved major success and received multiple gold certifications.
Between the late 1990s and the mid-2000s, the duo produced more than 50 official remixes for many Hungarian and international artists, becoming a reference point in Central Europe’s club scene. They also created several official anthems for the Budapest Parade electronic festival.
In the early 2000s, their productions started being released outside Hungary, including Influenza (2001), Come On (2002), and Just One Day (2004). They gained international visibility, performed across multiple European countries, and even toured Asia. They also released Behind Blue Eyes under the project Trance Rockers.
In 2004 they released Sandwich Mania, regarded as their first proper artist album, made largely of their own productions rather than a mixed compilation, and bringing together their standout work of the period.
Around 2008–2009, the duo gradually adopted the name Stereo Palma, with a stronger focus on international House. Under this identity they released various productions and Ibiza-inspired compilations, including the My Ibiza series.
In 2010, Stereo Palma (Naksi & Brunner) received the “Producer of the Year” award from the Hungarian DJs’ professional association, recognizing their national and international successes. Often viewed as Hungary’s most popular and influential DJ duo of the 2000s, they helped professionalize the local dance scene, popularized club compilations, and paved the way for a new generation of Hungarian producers.
