Deepcentral
Biography
Deepcentral is a Romanian musical project formed by the artists George Călin and Doru Todoruț. The duo began working together during the winter of 2006, after gaining studio experience with other artists. Through various collaborations, their own ideas took shape and ultimately led to the creation of Deepcentral.
On stage, their roles are complementary: George Călin handles mixing, while Doru Todoruț completes the artistic act with his voice, considered one of the best male voices in the Romanian music scene. After two years of work, they signed with Universal Music Romania, which introduced Deepcentral as the country’s new dance group.
George emphasizes that the project was built without pressure, with the freedom to be themselves, an approach encouraged by the record label. Doru highlights that signing with Universal Music Romania represents the most important step in their career, offering them real support in their creative endeavors for the first time.
For the label’s management, the decision to get involved with Deepcentral was obvious, not only because of the music, which is very radio-friendly, but also due to the natural communication and the shared qualities of creativity and intelligence with the duo. Their current sound, trendy look, and Doru’s distinctive voice are elements that contributed to the project’s success from the start.
Musically, Deepcentral operates in electronic genres such as dance, trance, electro, and europop. Their single So Devine was released in 2012. The project is sometimes referenced under the name Deep Central.
