Biography

Ken Laszlo, real name Gianni Laszlo Coraini, was born on July 18, 1954 in Florence. He is an Italian singer active in the synthpop and Italo disco genres and achieved notable success in the 1980s.

Among his most famous tracks are Hey, Hey Guy, Don't Cry and Tonight. The song Hey, Hey Guy reached number 21 on the French charts in 1984. Tonight, produced in collaboration with singer Gino Caria, entered the charts in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Sweden in 1985.

The music video for Hey Hey Guy was shot in France, at Paris-La Défense. The video for Tonight was filmed partly at the Musée Grévin, under the Austerlitz viaduct and quay, and in front of the grand basin of the Palace of Versailles in the Yvelines.

With one million records sold during this period, Ken Laszlo performed across Europe, in Asia (notably in Taiwan and Hong Kong), in South America (in Mexico, Venezuela and Brazil) and in the United States.

In 1987, he released his first vinyl album, titled Ken Laszlo, which includes the single 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8.

Subsequently, he released many other singles, both under the name Ken Laszlo and under various pseudonyms such as Ric Fellini, DJ NRG or Ricky Maltese. Under the name DJ NRG, he produced Eurobeat and regularly appeared in the 1990s on the A-Beat C label run by Dave Rodgers and Alberto Contini, as well as on Avex Trax.
