Baby D
Biography
Baby D is a British dance group active since the early 1990s, and is primarily associated with the Production House label. The collective is best known for its UK number-one single in 1992, Let Me Be Your Fantasy, which has since been reissued and remixed many times.
The core of the group consists of Dorothy Fearon, who performs under the stage name Baby D—a nickname given to her by Raj Malkani—and provides the lead vocals. She is joined by Terry Jones, aka Nino, on MC vocals and keyboards, as well as Claudio Galdez on additional keyboards and wind synthesizer. In the group’s earliest days, production and songwriting were also handled by Floyd Dyce, who was sometimes credited as a keyboardist.
Their musical style, blending breakbeat hardcore and Euro house, earned them two more UK Top 10 hits: I Need Your Loving, a cover of the 1980s hit by The Korgis, Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime, and So Pure. The group still performs live occasionally, playing clubs, universities, and colleges in the UK and abroad.
