Kim Leoni
Biography
Kim Leoni is a Dutch-Indonesian singer from Rotterdam. Her upbringing was marked by frequent moves, which led her to live in Europe, Asia, and the United States. In Miami, she joined a dance troupe and began performing in various clubs across Florida.
Returning to the Netherlands at age 17, she first pursued a modeling career before coming back to her first passion: music. Her first recording, the song “Again,” brought her a degree of recognition both at home and abroad.
In 2009, her career took a significant turn with the single Medicine. The track achieved modest success in America and notably reached No. 10 on Billboard’s U.S. dance chart. In the Netherlands, its music video received airplay on music channels such as TMF and MTV.
In May 2010, she collaborated with DJ Armand Van Helden on the single Emergency. The partnership also extended to the production of her then-new album. Active since 2006, she has continued to make music under the Cloud 9 label, moving between pop, electropop, and eurodance.
