Serebro
Biography
Serebro is a Russian female pop group formed in 2006 by producer Maxim Fadeev.
The original lineup—Elena Temnikova, Marina Lizorkina and Olga Seryabkina—made its first public appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki. They performed Song #1, finishing in third place.
Their first studio album, “ОпиумRoz”, was released in 2009 and featured songs in Russian and English. Soon after its release, Marina Lizorkina was replaced by Anastasia Karpova.
In 2011 the group achieved international success with Mama Lover, which became a hit in several European countries. Their second album, also titled “Mama Lover”, was released in 2012.
In 2013, Anastasia Karpova left to focus on a solo project and was replaced by Daria Shashina. Elena Temnikova then left the group in 2014.
In February 2019, Olga Seryabkina, the last original member, left Serebro along with Katya Kischuk and Tatiana Morgunova to concentrate on her solo career. Three new members were then recruited via an online casting.
Later in 2019, Maxim Fadeev announced the closure of the MALFA label, which had released the group’s music, and then the dissolution of Serebro, stating that the group would not regain the popularity it had enjoyed with Olga Seryabkina.
The group nonetheless entered a new chapter in 2024. On July 19, a compilation titled “11” was announced and released, bringing together most of the previous singles and four unreleased tracks.
On November 18, 2024, Serebro announced an upcoming new single, Song #2, for November 29. The music video revealed a new lineup consisting of Aigul “Aya” Valiulina, Diana “Di” Rak and Daria “Keiko” Kuznetsova.
This new lineup made its stage debut on December 12, 2024, performing Song #2 at the Golden Gramophone Awards. The following day, an EP was announced for December 20, featuring new recordings of older singles and different versions of their latest single.
Other studio albums include “СИЛА ТРЁХ” (2016) and “11” (2024). Their many singles also include Mi Mi Mi, Sexy Ass and Я тебя не отдам.
