Gitta

Gitta is the pseudonym used by Danish model, actress and singer Brigitte Nielsen for part of her musical career. The project was initiated by producers Christian de Walden, Steve Singer and Giovanbattista Giorgilli to test her success as an artist without directly associating it with her famous name.

Under this stage name she released several singles between 1999 and 2002, notably “No More Turning Back” and “Tic Toc”, and collaborated with drag queen and singer RuPaul on the single “You’re Not A Lady”. These tracks, especially “No More Turning Back” and “You’re Not A Lady”, enjoyed some success in Spain, reaching the top 10.

At the same time, Brigitte Nielsen pursued a musical career under her real name: she released the albums Every Body Tells A Story (1988) and I Am The One…Nobody Else (1992), recorded in 1987 a duet with Falco on “Body Next to Body”, and in 2012 lent her voice to the song “Misery” on the album School of Euphoria by the band Spleen United.
