Biography

Kim Joanna Woodcock, known by the stage name Kim Lukas, is a pop singer, songwriter, dancer and theatre actress, born in London in 1977.

From a young age she was passionate about theatre and music, performing in shows and musicals and studying at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in London, where she honed her acting, singing and dancing skills.

After her studies she worked with several theatre companies, including The English Shakespeare Company, and took part in the Edinburgh Festival. During a theatre tour in 1998 she moved to Italy and decided to stay.

In 1999 she worked in Milanese studios with Italian singers to help their English pronunciation; there she met producer Roberto Turatti and formed the musical project Kim Lukas.

Her first single, All I Really Want, was a major hit, reaching the European Top 10 and charting in Canada, Australia and Russia. Her second single, Let it Be The Night (2000), was followed by her debut album With a K. The same year she released To Be You, then Cloud 9 in 2001; in 2002 she presented the show The European Top 20 on the satellite channel Gay T.V.

Since 2003 she has collaborated on the Girls Party project with artists and close friends Neja and Nathalie Aarts (of the Soundlovers). She writes her own lyrics and has also penned songs for artists such as Sagi-Rei and Hard in Tango.

In 2006 she worked with Michele Paulicelli (known for Forza Venite Gente), translating all the songs for his new musical. Kim Lukas performs regularly across Europe, especially in Italy, and also released a single with her friend Nathalie Aarts, titled Change the World.
