Biography
Pierluigi Giombini is an Italian arranger and composer, born in Rome on 11 December 1956. Coming from a family of musicians, he is the son of composer Marcello Giombini, which led him toward music from an early age.
He established himself as one of the leading Italo-disco arrangers of the 1980s. His career began in 1980 with the project Range, created with Natascia Maimone (aka Natasha King) and Paul Mazzolini (aka Gazebo).
In 1982 he wrote true classics of the genre, including Masterpiece, Lunatic and I Like Chopin for Gazebo, as well as You're A Danger for Gary Low, all of which achieved major international success.
He went on to score further hits with Tip Tap Dancer for Tortuga, Am-Fm for Natasha King, Little Big Man for Bobby Game and Dancing Shoes for Pancho Ballet, all released on Claudio Casalini’s Best Record label.
His most notable work remains Dolce Vita for Ryan Paris, issued in 1984 on Severo Lombardoni’s Discomagic label. The track became one of the year’s biggest European hits, selling more than five million copies.
