Biography
Xenia Ghali is a Greek artist, DJ, producer, composer and classically trained musician who brings a dynamic presence to the electronic music scene.
Born in Athens, she began classical piano at age five. A multi-instrumentalist, she also learned flute, drums and guitar. After studying in the UK she turned to electronic music, drawing inspiration from artists like Erick Morillo and Chicago house, and started mixing on vinyl turntables.
She developed her style between London and New York, where she earned a Master in music production at NYU. Her aim is to fuse American and European styles while retaining her Greek identity to create universal music.
Her DJ career has taken her to renowned clubs such as Ministry of Sound in London, Pacha in Ibiza and RDV in New York. Her sound blends soulful house, driving beats, sparkling synth melodies and vintage-groove rhythms.
Her first single, Broken, featuring Katt Rockell, was released on Mr. 305 Records, the label of Pitbull. It was followed in 2015 by Get Dirty, a collaboration with Wyclef Jean.
In the summer of 2016 her track Under These Lights reached number one on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart. The next single, Places with singer Raquel Castro, reached the top 10 on the same chart.
Alongside releases on major labels, she produces high-energy club tracks on her independent label Funky Sheep Records, including Prophecy and Renaissance in 2015. She has also produced remixes for established artists such as Pitbull and Mr Vega.
Her artistic profile is accompanied by a strong visual and stylistic identity: she took part in MADwalk in Greece, composed the soundtrack for a runway show by designer Michael Costello, and has appeared in publications such as People Magazine, Runway, Madame Figaro, Billboard and The Huffington Post. She has also been associated with global brands like Adidas and G-Star Raw in Greece.
Known for passionate live performances and electric sets, she has played festivals such as Color Day, DreamWorld, Lake Party and River Party, and in cities including New York, Miami, Chicago and Athens.
