DJ Visage
Biography
DJ Visage is presented as a trance/dance project led by Danish DJ Martin Sig and produced by Austrian Norbert Reichart.
The project originated from their meeting in June 1997 in Monza during a Formula 1 Grand Prix — Martin Sig had begun DJing at 16 and undertaken a European tour at 19 — and producer Norbert Reichart.
They founded DJ Visage and developed singles aimed at clubs and international charts, among the first being Formula (1997); a remixed version, Formula '98, was released in July 1998.
In November 1998 the single Geil! was released with prominent promotional activities (T-shirts, promotional items, etc.). In May 1999 DJ Visage released a cover titled The Return (Club Mix) (1999), an adaptation of a worldwide hit attributed to A. Bocells & S. Brightman; for this track Martin Sig and Norbert Reichart chose as vocal partner a singer discovered in Copenhagen, Clarissa, then 23 and resident in Munich, who provided the chorus and stage presence.
Name variants noted: D.J. Visage, DJ Vissage, DJ. Visage, DJVisage, Visage.
The project’s profile lies in electronic and dance currents, with explicit references to trance and eurodance in its catalogue and promotion.
